Spring Field Training Exercise (FTX)

Learn to survive in the field at 330's Spring FTX!
The Squadron will have the opportunity to learn a variety of different air crew suvival techniques, ranging from improvised shelters to emergency first aid, and more!

Timings: Friday: arrive at Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute (DCTI) at 1730 hrs for a departure at 1815 hrs. Return to DCTI on Sunday at 1730 hrs.

Dress: As per kit list.

Notes: Must have your health card on you at all times! All meals are provided. Please refer to the kit list for packing instructions.

Annual Mess Dinner

Annual Squadron Mess Dinner

On behalf of the Commanding Officer, you and your family are cordially invited to attend the Squadron's annual mess dinner: a formal, military dinner. The dinner celebrates the accomplishments of our cadets, and introduces our cadets to classic Air Force traditions. 

Meal: A four-course meal will be served.

Tickets: Purchase your tickets from the Squadron Sponsoring Committee at the Canteen on Wednesday May 16th and 30th. Ticket prices are heavily subsidized by the SSC, and are: $20 for cadets and $40 for guests. Cheques can be payable to '330 Squadron RCACS. 

Dress: Cadets are to wear the C-8 order of dress (mess dress). This is the full uniform, however substituting a white dress shirt with a plain bow tie. Civilian guests should wear Business attire.

75th Annual Ceremonial Review

The Annual Ceremonial Review is a formal military inspection of the squadron. Cadets put their best foot forward for the parade, and display what they have learned in this year's training. Optional teams will present their displays and the top awards of the training year will be awarded. A reception is to follow. 

The parade is mandatory for all cadets. Family and friends are encouraged to attend.

Timings: Cadets to arrive at 0800 hrs in order practice the parade sequence and set up the facility. Parade starts at 1300 hrs. Parade dismissal at 1430 hrs at the latest. Reception to follow.

It is with great regret that we announce the cancelling of gliding activities both on Saturday and Sunday.

Today's strong winds have damaged the tow plane at the Markham Cadet Flying Site (CFS), rendering it unusable for gliding operations.

Our bi-annual fundraising event is coming soon! 

It is mandatory that all cadets participate in a minimum of 3 shifts.  Please arrive 15 minutes before your shift.

Notes: Must have your health card and a bottle of water. Snacks will be provided. Cadets tagging all-day Saturday will be given money for lunch.

A full-day of marksmanship practice. All are welcome! Those who have jot shot before must pass a safe handling test before shooting. Between shooting relays, cadets are encouraged to bring something to occupy their time.

Remembrance Day Parade

Remembrance Day Parade

We will remember them.

All members of 330 Squadron will participate in the East York Community Remembrance Day parade. Cadets will form up and march as a unit in remembrance of those who have lost their lives in service to the country. Participation is mandatory for all cadets.

Dress: C-1 (ceremonial dress) with parka and gloves. Black and Whites for recruits, with appropriate dark coloured parka and gloves. 
Recommended: Thermal Base Layer (i.e. long johns and long sleeve undershirt) and heavy socks

Location: The parade will form up in the parking lot of East York Collegiate Institute, and then march to the Memorial Gardens at the East York Civic Centre.

Parents are encouraged to stay and watch the parade. Light refreshments will be provided by the city, following the parade.

Operation ORION

Operation ORION, is 330 Squadron's Fall survival training exercise. Participation in the field training exercise (FTX) is required from all cadets. Cadets will participate in a variety of air crew survival training, ranging from navigation to fire building. Senior cadets will be evaluated during instructional and leadership performance checks.

Location: Glen Haffy Conservation Area

Timings: RV at Danforth Tech @ 1800 hrs for departure @ 1830 hrs on Friday 27 October. Return to Danforth Tech @ 1600 hrs on Sunday 29 October. 

Kit list: Cadets are required to bring the equipment listed in the kit list. Sleeping bags, air mattresses will be provided.

Permission form: Cadets are required to sign and bring the permission form to the FTX.

Transportation: A bus will transport cadets to and from Markham Airport. Cadets must R.V. at Danforth Tech C.I. for 0815 hrs; the bus will depart promptly at 0830 hrs. Cadets will be returned to the school for approximately 1800 hrs. 

Food: Lunch ONLY will be provided. Cadets must eat a nourishing breakfast prior to the activity. Water will be accessible on site at all times. 

Dress: Appropriate comfortably fitting civilian attire. Cadets will be outdoors all day, please dress according to the weather. 

Miscellaneous: Cadets MUST bring their health card and water bottle in order to attend. Cadets are encouraged to wear sunscreen. Cadets may bring equipment (frisbees, balls, cards, books etc.) to occupy themselves during free time.

SOS Memorial Service - SUNDAY 24 September

PLEASE NOTE: The ceremony is on Sunday 24 September. It was incorrectly advertised as Saturday during Wednesday's closing parade.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 10 holds their annual SOS Memorial Service, which remembers the sacrifices of veterans who have been lost to suicide. The Squadron has been asked to help support the ceremony, and to march in the parade. As this event helps support our community, cadets are eligible to receive community service hours.

Location: Legion Branch 10

Time: 1745 hrs - approximately 2000 hrs

Dress: C-1 (ceremonial)

Details: Cadets will be tasked with setting up the location, helping the Toronto Police Service set barricades, hand poppies to participants and march in the parade.

Canada's Wonderland (Tagging Incentive - 4 shifts or more)

Where: Canada's Wonderland

Transportation: A school bus will be provided to transport cadets to and from Danforth Tech C.I. Cadets must make their own way to the school for 0845h. The bus will leave promptly at 0900h. Cadets will leave the park at 2145h and return at approx. 2230h.

Food: One meal ONLY will be provided. Cadets may bring a meal to consume on the bus, or money to purchase one at the park. Only plastic bottles of water are permitted inside the park. Cadets must eat a breakfast prior to attending.

Dress: Civilian attire, dress according to the weather as this is an outdoor event. Bathing suits are required as well for water attractions. 

Miscellaneous: This activity is ONLY for cadets who have been authorized to attend (i.e. have attended four or more shifts). Those cadets who tagged a FULL FOUR shifts during the spring tagging fundraiser, and have had their attendance confirmed by a senior cadet or the SSC, are permitted to attend. 

Deposit Fee: A $20 deposit payment is required for cadets attending and can be submitted to the SSC. Money will be returned to cadets on the day of who are in attendance. Cadets who do not show up will not have their money returned.

Miscellaneous: This is an infrequent opportunity for 330 squadron, as the cadets, staff, sponsors and other unit stakeholders will formally recognize a change in leadership for the squadron; as the unit recognizes the efforts of outgoing Commanding Officer Capt John, and gives a warm welcome to incoming Commanding Officer, Maj Laverriere. All cadets are expected to attend. Parents, family members, and guests are highly encouraged to attend. Cadets must arrive for 1830h, guests are asked to arrive for 1900h, with a parade start time of 1930h.

Transportation: Cadets are meet at Danforth Tech C.I. with their uniform on a hanger for 0800h. A bus will transport all cadets to and from the venue.

Food: Lunch will be provided to members of the band. Cadets must eat a nourishing breakfast prior to attending. 

Dress: Full C1 order of dress (full uniform). Cadets must arrive in civilian attire, and will change into uniform prior to the parade. 

Miscellaneous: Only members of the band are permitted to attend this event. Cadets must bring their instruments and all music to the parade. This is an important occasion for a fellow air cadet squadron, support of the 330 band is certainly appreciated!

Where: H.M.C.S. York (659 Lakeshore Blvd W.)

Transportation: None. Cadets are to make their own way to and from H.M.C.S. York. Cadets must meet for 0800h.

Food: Lunch ONLY will be provided. A reception of finger foods will be made available following the parade. Cadets must eat a nourishing breakfast prior to attending. 

Dress: C1 - Ceremonial Attire (tunic & tie, with medals). Cadets will wear civilian attire for the morning. Uniforms must be ironed and hung in a suit bag. Hair must be done for the morning. Cadets will practice in civilian attire for the morning and change into their uniform following lunch, in time for the parade. Remember to bring all uniform items. 

Miscellaneous: As per the curriculum of the air cadet training program; this is a mandatory parade for all cadets, in order to pass the training level. Cadets must arrive for 0800h for a practice. Following lunch, cadets will change into their uniform. The parade for all guests will begin at 1300h and conclude no later than 1500h, followed by a reception. 

Friends and family are highly encouraged to attend to support our cadets through their graduation parade. Numerous awards and presentations will be made, in addition to a military style precision drill performance.

Cadets who attend will be given assistance to complete their award selections and receive their applicable recognition.

Water will be accessible on site at all times but cadets are encouraged to bring a water bottle. Cadets will be participating in physically demanding sports all day and must be properly nourished. 

Dress: Appropriate comfortably fitting sports attire. Female hair must be tied back and not interfere with game play. 

Miscellaneous: Only cadets who are selected to be on the sports team are permitted to attend.
